Who We Are
Since its founding in 1969, Environmental Tectonics Corporation (ETC) has been the technology leader in the development, design and manufacture of hyperbaric and aeromedical systems for both civil and military organizations around the world. To focus special attention within the company on the unique requirements of clinical systems, ETC formed the BioMedical Systems Group in 1998.

Among its associates, ETC BioMedical Systems has decades of experience in the field of hyperbaric technology. This includes equipment design and development, operational procedures and management, and R&D in both diving and clinical applications. To ensure that our products remain on the leading edge of technology and anticipate user needs, BioMedical Systems maintains a pro-active relationship with customers and the market at large. This philosophy has led to the implementation of new product features and advancements in the field of oxygen therapy.

Long history of leadership in HBO technology

ETC's BioMedical Systems Group believes in continuous improvement and has advanced products with innovative solutions to real world needs. This is accomplished through customer input and internal research & development. BioMedical Systems Group understands that the methods of yesterday only provide a steppingstone for the standards of tomorrow. As a result, there is an established record of being a true leader in hyperbaric technology / oxygen therapy and in expanding the capabilities of the equipment used in the clinical environment.

To produce an acrylic monoplace hyperbaric chamber larger than 25" in diameter.
To produce clinical monoplace hyperbaric chambers with:
  • Computer-based automatic operation
  • SMOOTH·RIDE™ pressure-change technology - for both compression and decompression
  • Standard adjustable-height gurney
  • Integral patient monitoring interface that uses industry standard connectors and not proprietary connectors
  • A 700-lb patient capability
  • A passive bariatric pressure relief mattress
  • An effective thermal adjustment system

  • FDA clearance in the U.S. for the general administration of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the prescription of a physician
American-manufactured clinical monoplace hyperbaric chamber carrying the CE Mark to 2003 standards requiring compliance to both the Medical Device Directive (MDD) and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
To produce PVHO-compliant altitude chambers for aircrew training and aeromedical research (for the US Federal Aviation Administration's Civil AeroMedical Institute [CAMI]).
